The Female Genital Mutilation Awareness app is designed to help practitioners understand what Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is, as well as the context within which it takes place and the relevant legislation to combat it.

The app is designed to create greater levels of ‘confidence in competence’ for key practitioners. Critically, it is to build confidence so that they are better prepared to identify those children most at risk of FGM.

The app provides you with a Digital Certificate which is awarded upon successful completion of a ‘Confidence Test’. The course is also accompanied by an About Us, Reference and Twitter section.

The course is present in 3 formats so that you can choose to watch, read and listen to the information.

The app was commissioned by the charity CFAB (Children and Families Across Borders) and it is designed and developed by INEQE Safe and Secure. It has been made possible thanks to funding by the UK Department for Education.
